What Is: I created this infographic as part of an overarching project when planning for the diffusion of an innovation at an elementary school. The purpose of the infographic was to demonstrate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used in elementary education and its advantages.

Process: Before creating a visual, I had to develop the content. I gathered relevant information from research articles, educational websites, and online publications. Upon analyzing all the information, I wrote short summaries that were suitable for an infographic format and proceeded to create an infographic using Canva. 

Connect: The process of creating this infographic involved gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from a variety of sources. The main challenge was the actual synthesis process due to the abundance of information on the topic and the limited space offered by this specific format.

What Is: This artifact is a review of a research article about a pilot study on using immersive virtual reality (VR) to assess aggressive behavior in children. 

Process: In this review, I summarized the study’s purpose, methods, and findings, and reflected on its relevance for instructional technology and education. The study explored how immersive virtual reality can be used as a more valid and engaging tool for assessing aggressive behavior compared to traditional vignette-based methods. 

Connect: Through this review, I had an opportunity to explore how emerging technologies, such as VR, can be utilized in educational and psychological assessments. Crafting the review involved analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the research while linking its findings to larger trends in instructional technology. As a special education teacher, I also considered how VR could improve behavioral assessment and intervention within schools. This process contributed to the learning outcome of synthesizing research related to issues and trends in instructional technology.
