Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.
What Is: This presentation on artificial intelligence (AI) in education and other industry sectors was created as part of an exploratory project by our group's collaborative efforts.
Process: As part of a group, I was deeply involved in the creative process of designing these slides in Canva. I chose the template design and shared it with the other group members. After exploring the topic of AI as one of the current trends in instructional technology, we presented our findings to the rest of our class via this creative project.
Connect: This presentation was a result of a collaborative effort where each member of the group contributed to the overarching project and the development of this artifact. I had a chance to learn from my colleagues and share my own knowledge while working on all parts of our group project, including this presentation. This collaborative and creative process allowed me to improve my own professional practice and to learn many tools and features available in Canva.
What Is: This artifact represents the first part of my reading journal that I was using to reflect on many readings and multimedia resources studied during the first three modules of the course.
Process: After reading and watching videos on various topics that addressed the diffusion of innovations, I presented my analysis as short synopses of key takeaways from the articles, book chapters, and interviews with the experts on the topic. I analyzed the information and explained it in my own words, the way I understood the main points. This journal was kept and updated throughout the entire course.
Connect: Working on this journal as part of the class equipped me with the theoretical and practical knowledge that I will be able to apply to my professional practice. I learned about proven and promising practices by reading, analyzing, and reflecting on many sources that provided different perspectives on the process of successful technology integration. Learning from the experts in the field will further improve my ability to leverage technology to improve my students' learning.
Creating an engaging presentation about current trends in instructional technology, as well as keeping a journal where I shared my analysis and thoughts on the effective ways to diffuse innovations, provided me with an opportunity to learn from the experts. By exploring the topic of artificial intelligence in different sectors of human society, I was able to learn about this trend, its advantages and drawbacks, and its benefits for education. The collaborative process that was an integral part of working on the presentation gave me an opportunity to learn from my colleagues and share my own ideas. I believe that I acquired much deeper knowledge about the process of integrating innovative technology into the educational environment, as well as a deeper understanding of the pros and cons of making AI part of an educational ecosystem.
